Hello, I am working on my second year of racing boats and have been trying to learn everything I can about this sport. Learning about racing, building set-up and nitro motors has been a lot of fun so far. I can't express how much I appreciate the help that has been given to me from the other club members (Evansville Dist. 14) and the people of this forum!

I'd like to venture into the world of FE...and as far as I know there isn't much interest locally. I am interested in what other districts are doing with their Fast Electric classes....perhaps I could sway 3 others in our club to join the FE side =)

Primarily, I am interested in the P-Spec classes. So far all I understand is the limit being 9-12 cells or 4S Lipo. I have only seen Tunnels (VS-1 modded), the JAE 21 FE and of course the UL-1, SuperVee and Probaot Miss Elam that fit this category. Due to the characteristics of our clubs lake I , would think the outriggers and possibly tunnels would fair better...

At any rate, any info or comment would be warmly accepted...thanks!

Wait till you see the event list for the Wine Run (August 7th /Starlight, In). There may be something of interest in there for you. ;)

Two years ago there were no FE's in D12. I decided someone has to be the first so I joined IMPBA and my local club and ran FE's in novice with my son. I quickly learned the main reason there was no interest in FE's was that most of the district members did not know what they are capable of. But I also met nitro drivers who came up to me and told me they ran electric helecopters and planes and would probably run FE's if there were a cIass available. So I started the thread below and with the help of Doug Smock the D13 FE director and input from nitro drivers in the thread below, I put together a set of FE rules for the district. The good folks in D12 were nice enough accept my rules for a one year trial and the result is a half dozen new IMPBA members in the district and we'll be running FE's and nitros together for the first time this weekend. I dont know how it will work out, but at this point any exposure is a good thing.

If you build it, they will come!!!

Could I get a sneak peak

I just found this thread http://www.intlwaters.com/index.php?showtopic=39942&st=0 ...looks like it should be a good read...
All D-14 Championship Points Events plus B Tunnel and FE Spec Tunnel.

Basic rules for Spec Tunnel are UL-1, SV 27 or BJ 26 motor. Any ESC. Up to 4S lipo or 12 cell nimh. Hull must meet IMPBA rules for a tunnel hull. Race will be for 5 laps on a (roughly) 1/6 mile course. You will not be racing with nitro boats so the start will or can be different, but as of now that has not been determined. I'm open for suggestions on that subject. Please don't ask for other FE classes as we have limited time and manpower as it stands. This is something we decided to offer just to see what the interest level is in the area (and I'm the CD and I happen to have one :p ).
