IMPBA D-2 "Dashwheel Sprint" June 12, 2011

Racers the Southern Ontario Model Boat club will be hosting the 1st annual "Dashwheel Sprint" this year on June 12th. The race site is well located about 1 hour from both Detroit Michigan and London Ontario, immediately off the 401 highway. It is our intention to make this a great one day race that we hope you will enjoy. We would appreciate any feedback on who may be attending and what classes they will be running, so that we can plan for the trophies and lunch etc. We are flexible on changing or adding a class etc so give us some feedback.You can respond here or by email to me at [email protected] if you prefer.

LS27 Mono – LS27 Cat – LS27 Sport Hydro – Thunderboat – Jersey Skiff

Nitro Classes

1/8 Scale – Sport40 – B Hydro – B Mono – D Hydro

D2-D1 and all other Racers:

we wil be collecting entries at the race site on Sunday morning so you dont need to prepay, we would appreciate entries via email ([email protected]) so we can assure our trophy purchases (1st through 3rd plaques). There will be hot dogs, burgers and pop available at the race for a really modest fee. We are planning on using an audio clock, two retrieve boats, a scafolding style drivers stand etc. So come on out and check out our race site we think your going to love it.. Tony J

Ok I am going to offer Open Rigger for the Dashwheel Sprint IF there is any interest. Nitro - Electric or GAS single or TWIN. I will leave this open for a couple of weeks and see if we get any response. Drag out the thunder boys !!

D2 Nitro pilots:

The SOMBC is looking for some B monos and B Hydros and some D hydros so we that can hold the classes. All the gas classes are at minimums so were good to go on all of those. I would like to order our trophies this Friday and would appreciate these classes filling out a bit.. Tony J

Racers we will try and get started between 830 and 9 am should be some time for limited open water...

There are (2) exits for tilbury one on the east and one on the west, either one is fine.:

From the London area 401 to Exit 63 - CR 2 (Queen's Line) , turn right onto Highway 2 follow highway 2 (7 kms) into Tilbury , at the intersection of Queen Street there is a traffic light, turn right (south) , go under the 401 overpass and Northside Park will be on your left.

From The Detroit Windsor area 401 to exit 56 County Rd 42 turn right at the stop. Follow 42 into town you will pass the Tilbury auto mall, Tim Hortons, KFC, at the intersection of Queen Street there is a traffic light, turn left (south) , go under the 401 overpass and Northside Park will be on your left.
