Im no expert, but ive found that 3.5 K&B outboards love high nitro. I run 50% nitro in mine, with 20% oil. I couldnt even get it to run properly on 20% nitro. I had all sorts of dramas, and when i upped the nitro, it was sweet. If i were you, id try 40%nitro, 20%oil.

Higher % nitro fuel will increase performance.

What is the height of the c/l of the prop compared to the bottom of the sponsons?

I generally run my props around 1/4" above the bottom of the sponsons.

My prop is inline with the bottem of the boat is that wot u mean

Dion I think Jerry wants to know how deep you are running your prop.

The lines in the BMP represent the bottom of your sponsons and the asterik is your prop. Jerry stated that he runs his prop center line 1/4 above the bottom of the sponsons.

kris dion is amember of our club as you would know not many people run outboaerds thier he is new to the sport and needs some goood advice. By the way gday hope you are coming to the nats brett ward

Good to hear from you.

Yep i sure am going to the Nats this year.

BTW I am pretty sure Dions boat is a Prather lap cat 1.

My suggestions would be to start with the prop 1/8" above the bottom of the sponson bottoms, nuetral thrust angle and start with the needle wound out from fully closed 4 turns and go in 1/8" turns till you find that sweet spot.

Oh and set the CoG measured from the rear of the boat around 28% of the hull length
