Just found out this morning I have to go in Friday morning for a hernia surgery and Paul is helping his wife after her surgery so we just do not have the manpower to run the event and it was decided to cancel the event. We still plan to have the turkey day trials though.

“Harvest Record Trials” to be held at Brahan Spring Park, South Lake on Drake Ave. CLASSES: All IMPBA Nitro, FE & GAS classes. Event starts when equipment is setup and working, usually around 8:00AM. The timing equipment will be in operation as long as the weather permits for the duration of the event. $25.00 flat fee to enter; run as often as time permits. NOTE: Every evening at 4:00PM, only drivers whose boats have been within 5% of the record during the event, or if you currently hold that record will be allowed to run on the short list. 1/16 mile SAW, 1/3 mile & 1/4 mile OVAL will be options at CD’s discretions & majority of the contestants. For more information contact Bill Zuber 256-361-3325 [email protected]

Jay and I are watching the weather. 900 miles is a haul. Can take a little wind for ovals but tunnels don't tolerate much in a SAW. Just none straight out of the north.

We have the 1/3 mile oval set up and ready along with the SAW course. If the majority wish to set the 1/4 mile oval course we switch it out at that time it takes us about 1/2 hour to set a course depending on the wind.

Huntsville forecast is looking pretty decent. Maybe some rain Sat but the wind gods seem to be favorable. Jay and I are packing.

Spent Wednesday packing 5 boats and equipment into my Explorer. Jay, Max and I were on the road yesterday and got the call that the event was cancelled. Fortunately we were only to Sarasota, an hour into a 13-14hr drive. You pay your money and take your chances I guess. Worst part is the wind gods were in tunnel mode looking at the hourly forecast and we were hoping to break our own records and go after a couple others. We were prepared for once anyway.

I know the Huntsville gang has some obstacles that take priority so we hope all is well with them. Hope the Turkey day event will have good weather also.

Mic

It was very hard to call it off, but in the end family does come first. We will keep on plugging away and be ready for the turkey day event. (Lets hope for nice weather!) Sorry we had the late call, it was just how things rolled out.

Paul,

We totally understand you have concerns that far outweigh any event. We sincerely hope all will turnout well.

Got a call from Bill his surgery went well is on the way home now. Good news! My wife is doing better, will be a long road of recovery ahead but she is positive about it and we will get past all this soon. Thanks for understanding.

Yeah really sorry we had to cancel, I hate missing a boat event. Found out I actually had 2 hernias so as my wife would say I got a BOGO. Really looking forward to our turkey day event.

If it helps any, Sat. had pretty strong north winds and and many of you know at our lake north winds can make for some really big chop. Mr. Weather nailed the temp, but the wind was off from the predicted values. Sure is cool this AM!
