Hello all, I just purchaced a new HTB 290 with a nova long stroke, on a 7.5 lower. I was wondering if anyone coudl offer some good setup tips for this particular boat. I know the usual, 3/16ths above bottom of sponsons, but what CG does it liek to run at? Any HTB specific tips? Thanks for any help in advacne fellas, Rodney

Did you try htbboats.com? I think there's some setup info on the website.

Hey guys,

I'm in the process of redoing the HTB site and don't yet have all of the information there. Back to the setup... The cg needs to be right at 8 1/2 to 8 3/4. I doubt that you will be able to run the motor as high as you might think. If you have one with a lot of power and torque it will need to be right at or some below the sponsons other wise the boat will want to do some stupid stuff. That also will depend on the prop selected. I have my motor set back about two inches from the transom and am running a very cut down 1440 in diameter and pitched up a bit as well. I can get you some pictures if you want...let me know.
