how to move coil on quickdraw engine to vertical

It depends if it is a pioneer or older style. for the pioneer there is an ignition plate with a recess so it will clear the bulge of the cast cylinder. Then you also need to use the old keyway ( not the pioneer one) as your ignition tming would be 90 degree off...

I bought a second hand QDP that has this recesss in the ignition plate. QD might selle them or you need to seek someone who can mill it out for you.
 
it is the red coil that i need to move...my new Eagle is the narrow 3.5 inside width...ijust fount out that the Quickdraw needs a 5inch width tub..oh well back to the drawing board
 
Hopefully Andy will chime in here. He ran a 30.5cc pioneer in a customers boat recently. As rhomodel pointed out you need to make a hydrid engine with the OE woodruff key position and a pocketed red coil mount. The other option is switching to an electronic ignition which is more involved.
 
A long time ago Mike Bontoft ran Quickdraws in an Eagle. Rear exhaust was the way to go.
