How long does 4 oz of fuel last?

what size engine? It will sometimes start to increase speed a little when the engine starts to go lean from running out of fuel...... usually it will just die with very little warning..... so don't wait too long and youll be fine

It depends on the motor(size/brand), pipe, and most of all load. I can run a K90 for 3-5 minutes on 4 oz of fuel if there is no load on it. My 45 SG has a 15oz tank and my MAC45 will consume it all in 2.5 minutes.

If it is a nitro boat then put an 8 to 10 oz. tank in it no matter what it is. Most boats are set up with a surge tank to avoid low fuel lean out. If you are going to run race course size laps or go racing, 4 oz. won't do. Bigger motors and faster boats will require even more.

Chris, how can you run 3-5 min with 4 oz and a K90???

Is that on idle??? :D

I can agree that it take that per minute.

Anders,

That's my point. Until we know what type of motor, what size motor, and what boat it is going into you can't give a an acurate answer. I can run a K90 for quite a while on the bench with the motor idling if there's no load. On the other hand my MAC21 burns 4 oz a minute, my MAC45 burns 6oz a minute, and my K90's burn about 8oz a minutes. They are all heavily loaded and burn alot of fuel. If you put smaller props on those same boats the fuel consumption goes down because it doesn't take as much HP to turn a smaller load.

Longer than you can keep it right side up!

Figure on a pick up raft or boat. "At least in my case."

OK, seriously, the motor is a "Tweener", btween the .12', .15's and .21's that most of us are used to. With 4 oz. in my .12's I get a pretty good run time, enough to run a 6 lap race with plenty for pre-race laps. RPM and your fuel mixture can make a difference in your run time so this has to be taken into consideration so it's difficult to make a guess. Time your runs driving wide open for 2 minutes for instance, bring in it and see how much was used, this might give you a ballpark figure.

Ignore Don, he hasn't had his special medication yet today. B)

i hav a cmb 67 with a prather 245 prop and in a cat. its a sulivan BT-16 tank.(is this 16oz?)its got pretty small fuel lines on it. how long does this surposted run for?. it runs for about 7 or 8 minutes.

the problem is that the tank only fills up 3/4 of the way  and leaves a bit in the bottom when it stops. What is happineng here

The fuel pickup isn't on the bottom of the tank or has a crack in the pickup. The tube might not be in the right position.

the vent tube is probably not curved upward (should be at the highest point in the tank)so when filling the fuel only fills to the level of the vent tube.
