Thats not fast enough I can do 50 now -_- . Whats the fastest anyone has seen one run? Whats the downsides of its hull design as it relates to high speed. Do full length strakes hurt or help highspeed ?

Well thanks phil, I guess no ones run one but you and I lol. Wow.Its beautiful when no one contributes coz then I can run wild with my own theories. Do yall really want that? OK contribute then  .

It's a old hull design. The full length strakes will lift the boat out of the water at speed. Probably not designed to go the speeds your looking for. Built one years ago,.. took forever to fill the pin holes in the hull..

I ran a 40in Prather, Classic Deep Vee (OPS .45), was as fast as most other .45 mono's in my heat racing experiences at the time. Only thing is these hulls had the tendency to hook in turns.

I wonder if I could make it better for more power by removing a few inches of the rearward inner strakes.

Yes . I m getting that idea from looking at the newer hulls. I wonder if it can run 70 at least.

The seaducer I had after the prather was much faster,. just my experience..
just curious, were you using the same engine and prop in both hulls?
My Prather was powered by an un-modified OPS .45 (w/RPM rod), OPS nitro pipe, turning an Octura X-447, very fast boat. I would imagine a newer-generation engine (say a CMB .45 VAC) turning bigger prop would push this hull way beyond it's limits.

These hulls definitely had a lot of lift (good and bad I think), due to full length strakes. Not sure how much the taller profile (of the traditional classic deep vee design) hinders top speed as compared to the newer-generation lower-profile designs (ie. Seaducer, CalCraft, even YoungBlood, etc.,...)

Actually it was the same engine, but different props and pipes. The prather was a sub surface drive, and seaducer was a surface drive.
