Hopper tank question

Hi,

I have a couple of these small hopper tanks and was wondering how do you set these up. I know how the fuel lines hook up but do you drill a hole in the tank for the other fitting? What are the two pieces of plastic that extend from the tank for?

The top one is where your fuel out from your main tank goes to and you can use either one on the bottom depending on where your hoses line up. I use a small drill bit and drill into the plastic piece.but not all the way through, then use use a pin or a dart heat up and melt into the tank that way you don't get any stuff inside the tank.
