My bud is in the process of making a quiet pipe for one of his boats. He and his Pops have been doing it for years.
Here's what it is:
Top end of a mouse can
1/2" alum pipe with holes drilled running through the center and out the back.
Can is filled with thick steel wool and has some type of high heat gasket maker around the mouse can & the normal exhaust along with a few sheet metal screws. Looks like jerry riggin at its finest to me, but they use the a similar setup to quieten down their other pipes.
Says it sounds real quiet but how is it on performance? Never seen anything like this.
