They were the 40 engines to have when I started in the 70's, I could only afford the "Kabooms" though back then.

An old friend of mine since pass away use to race one of those in his sport 40 1, In a J. G hull , and the rest used the old K&B,s ...We use to buy them for 49.95..He had a Hobby store dealer who would be able to get them for him...Don't remember how much....Stright Hedders pipes no mufflers,,Lost of lot of hearing due to those K&B,s.....

Ya, I ran K&B 6.5's on mini pipes till the early 80's, now that was LOUD. :blink:

We use to try all kinds of thing to quite them down...Till Mac came out with the magic minnie muffler...
