Help WD 40 OIL might be bad

I bought a gallon of WD 40 from harbor freight.
The outer handle started to rust so I put the oil in a plastic jug that won't rust. JUG WAS CLEAN.
The next day I noticed a separation. at the bottom was a look like a thicker creamy substance while above was the normal clear wd40. My question is, is this normal & I'm wondering if harbor freight is stuffing the can with some kind of a filler to give the buyer less wd40 making us think we're getting a full gallon. This creamy substance isn't water & feels slick like oil.
I flush my carb out with wd40 on my gas boat. I also shook the jug to mix & it's separating again.
ANY HELP WILL BE APPRECIATED. THANKS.

Id throw it away,WD40 in a gallon can will attract moisture and grow bacteria over time

Sounds like that can may have been sitting in a damp warehouse for a while and absorbed some moisture. What you describe is when WD40 absorbs moisture. I pulled a green head apart last night and noticed a Vaseline like jelly in the cooling jacket. That was WD40 sprayed in there probably 10 years ago.

WD 40 will attack some plastics. Just like it works good to remove tape glue residue if you put it on and let it sit for a few. Probably why they sell it in a metal can. I've got an old can that is rusty as a Dodge pick up truck on the outside but the product is still good inside.

I always have lighter fluid on hand to get rid of residue. Learned from my old slot car days...

WD-40 can separate if the can isn't shaken well enough before use. Shaking the can mixes the solvent and additives together to create an even mixture and ensure the best results.

WD 40 is not good for your motors.
It works great on a stiff rusted hinge be cause it has a very fine grit in it.

I've been using it for 35 plus years on everything other than silicone ramped Nova's without any issues at all!

I quit using it years ago and have had no issues.

Get a can of lps-3 to flush out the gas motor. It doesent gell up in the lines.

Are you sure you don't mean LPS2? LPS3 leaves a heavy waxy film. I use it on my mill and lathe ways and bed to prevent prevent rust from condensation. LPS2 leaves a thin oil layer to protect.

The whole idea with wd40 is to break down the nitro your flushing and then oiling. I can not attribute any kind of failure to wd40

Read about LPS 3 I don't think that's what I need to run through a carburetor especially if it gels up then I see LPS 2 which looks more like what I would need. I was also told I could use transmission fluid to run through the carburetor I tried that first but was looking for something thinner that's why I used WD-40 I can't use a spray can because I'm running it through the lines

I still flush with WD40. I dont spin them over with starter because it can wear out the fit. I just hand turn it over to flush out the bearings. Do this twice with engine flooded. Then lube with rislone.
