I am relatively new here and any help would be appreciated. I am running a modified Dumas Sorcerer ( now a semi deep vee as opposed to flat bottom) with OPS .45, i am in the process of trying to get it to run flat and stay on the water. What would a reasonable COG / balance point be as a starting point. It runs pretty reliably around 50-55mph but only for short bursts before blowing off the water and backflipping. I have tried negative strut angle and the same thing happens once it gets up to speed. Also goingto try trim tabs. Any other suggestions would be appreciated.

C'mon guys...SOMEONE has to have run this hull. Let's give him a hand.

BTW...I'm thinkin 50 to 55 is damned respectable for a .45 mono...especially for an older hull.

Typically the CG is set from the transom 30% of the total length. Try trim tabs. If the boat is actually going that fast then I would say it has reached its limits for the most part. Not that I am any mono expert but when that boat was designed I don't think anything was going 55. It probably is designed to have extra lift to compensate for the lack of power back then.
