GV Into the future

The Gas version whiplash has been around for a decade or more. I will attempt to get my new one scary fast like my backlash...I wanted something that I could put together pretty quick and this fits the bill.
I have some set up ideas that I plan on incorporating in this build. So stayed tuned

I started by getting the motor in position. It's not set as yet cause my thinking is to get the hardware and everything else in their place... servos and batteries etc and play with the balance of the hull. Once that is done I will then button down everything. This hull has the rudder mounted on the left. Initially it will be powered by a BH hanson g1 spec modified 25.4. I'm currently going with a Daniel place slip fit hot pipe. So in my program I run motors and pipe as a complete set and I usually keep them together once I test them and I'm happy with the performance.

So the water lines I used a brass line...only because it's what I had....might switch it out to aluminum tube later. Monster outlet is in place....the washer trick finally getting another opportunity to be used...Thanks Daniel Place

This Gv had its first big race at Charleston and it ran awsome. The design is still competitive Although originally this boat is built for a small block it handled the big block 30.5 motor I stuck in there well. Set up especially of the turn fin is crucial. I had mine too much on the edge and I paid for it with 2 early dnfs. Once I got the boat settled down I was able to grab a 1st in the 3rd round. 4th round I got too aggressive at the start and took myself out of the race. All in all for the first big race the boat could handle it...the driver didn't do to well. My set up ideas worked as the boat didn't lack speed againt a huge field of Backlashes. If your wondering the field was comprised of 2 of the older Ml 480 they were fast...I never saw this boat design run like that, 1 new insane synergy hydro, my 1 GV whip, 2 insane gx5, all the rest were backlashes Gen 2 and Gen 3.
A newly finished Gen 3 backlash took the weekend. A strong motor combined with the wire drive and a good prop made this GV scary fast...I took an older design put some modern ideas on it and it works.

Gettin some Revs! The right turn fin is the key to success with this boat and I’m still trying to get that perfect fin myself. These things are near unbeatable when set up right!

Lots of gs on this turn fin that's on it now ....as I was cleaning up the boat I realized it was bent...will be trying a g force next

He makes a nice fin and man are they pretty. Mine is like a mirror. The boat definitely likes it better than the stock blazer fin.

Nice boat. I’ve had. One sitting on the shelf for about 2 years. I have a brand new Quickdraw 30.5 Pioneer just waiting to go in in it. All I need is enough ambition to get my butt out there and do it.
