What a wonderful time to be an 11 year old kid.....so many heros....i still remember being GLUED to our B&W tv watching the whole deal... maybe thats why i still play with model rockets today...i sure did back then...all i wanted to be was an ASTRONAUT! :) I find it PATHETIC that we dont even have a replacement for our Shuttle yet....Mr. Armstrong was such a staunch proponent of an aggresive MANNED space program and made it clear that he wasnt happy that we dont...maybe someday......again. Thanks Neil, Allan, Gus, Ed, Rodger, and so many other heros that are no longer with us in this life that gave us so much to be proud of.

I remember a big cheer going up at work when we saw the chutes and the splash down. They were home safe. Everywhere you went in the city, their were B&W tv's on in the store windows with people standing and watching. True HERO. God Speed. B)

A true hero- they are far and few between these days, a pioneer in the largest sense.

Godspeed .
