i like the idea of not tucking the belt too. The starters i have are the sullivan hi torque deluxe. I'll have a look at the dynatron. thanks for the replyI use one in front of the motor in place of the pull starter. I like not having to tuck the belt away. I use a Sullivan Dynatron 12/24 volt starter and use 2-12v 7amp SLA batteries. This set up spins a gas motor well. Some like the more compact ones that have the Lithium ion batteries attached in an all in one unit and those are nice I understand but will cost you some money. Some build their own. Personally, I had the starter and aside from the pulley and a belt, the batteries cost me 40.00.
so do you think the reg one on 12v would even think of turning it over or should i just look for a dynatron?BTW... DON'T use the smaller 12 volt Sullivan starters on 24 volts... it may work for a while, but it will spin the guts out of the armature... ask me how I know.
There’s one on eBay:i like the idea of not tucking the belt too. The starters i have are the sullivan hi torque deluxe. I'll have a look at the dynatron. thanks for the reply
Like Frank said earlier, you can do it but eventually it may burn out. If you have a few and are willing to sacrifice one, it’ll probably at least last a little while.so do you think the reg one on 12v would even think of turning it over or should i just look for a dynatron?
thanks Mark, i think I'll give that a try as i have a few of the deluxe models and quite a few 4s battsI ran the deluxe on 24 for years. Only thing that went bad is the brushes wore out. Put a new set in and kept going. converted it to run on Millwaukee batteries for a while now has 4s lipo. I do not recomend power tool battery for gas engines. Killed a couple of them from over amping them.
Get the Dynatron , the 12 will sling all the solder off the armature and self destruct .so do you think the reg one on 12v would even think of turning it over or should i just look for a dynatron?
