Hey guys I put up some pics from the Thunderboat Regatta here in San Diego here: https://www.intlwaters.com/gallery/thumbnails.php?album=42

I am going to be on the water using my real boat as a schuddle boat for the officals and course judges Tomorrow and Sunday. If there are any shots for you scale guys need or something you just have always wanted to see, let me know and I will post a pic. Out there this weekend will be: Unlimiteds, Unlimited Lights, Champ Boats, Cracker Boxes, and TF Drag boats, allong with a few laps from the off shores. I think that is all but I don't have the schedule in front of me. Let me know boys! This is FUN!! :D :D :D

Take shots of EVERYTHING! Throw them in Tom's pic area. Being in the shuttle boat ought to give you some unique shot ops that aren't the typical shoreline stuff.

I really like close ups of tunnels slam'n the turns, But yea what Ron said, Shoot em all, Does sound like a fun day!!!!!

So I have a story. May I bend your eye?

There was a couple that was on one of the perimiter boats that was getting ready to propose. It was arranged that they would get schuttled to a judge boat in turn two, where the U-1 would come off plane, pop the hatch and say "hey will you marry this guy?" Amazingly the U-1 team aggred and the "Miss Bud photo opp" was on. I schuttled the couple to the yaht then picked up the photographer who was to film the whole thing. We had to be covert because the fiance to be had no idea. So Miss Bud comes out and does some timing laps then fakes back to the pits then comes right at us and comes off plane. Dave did a really great job of pointing the T-6 just past the transom of the judge boat where the couple was watching the race boat approach. The cockpit opend and Dave clambers out and says "well what's the answer?" At which point the guy gets down on one knee etc.. I am trying to be as close as possible t the action for the photogs. and the Miss Bud comes with in INCHES of my bow! Ahh it was so cool. My dad was video taping. He is a news caster for the local ABC station here and put the whole thing on the Air this morning. What an experience!

OK that is all. BTW that was the first in Hydroplane history, and will be the only time the most recognisable boat in the world will be involved.
