5.7L throttle body inj with 138,409 miles

i have put some Techron by Chevron fule Inj cleaner in it new plugs an changed fule filter

it seems to have some dead spots in low throttle range

spits an sputters a little climbing a hill some times

died at stop light 2 times starts right up

runs good on high way

problum seams to be in low RPM range

any info or ideas would be great

thank you for your time an help

Marty

Throttle position sensor is bad. My sons s10 did the same thing and we changed the TPS and all problems went away.

Hi Marty

Are you getting a check engine light? Read the codes in comp. Has the intake gaskets ever been changed? They are made of plastic and are are prone to leak. KENNY

I recommended plugs, wire, cap and rotor and the injector cleaner.

Looks like he did plugs and fuel filter. Now needs cap and rotor, and wires.

TPS sensor is a likely candidate as well. (didnt think about that one)

Yep , TPS is basically a potentimeter - the are know for "dead spots" in the range or poor contact in a certain range- No MIL just means it hasnt set a hard code.... Yet , it will when it fails ;)

Along with TPS the stalling could possibly be the egr valve, I know the V6 vortec had that issue in the 94 -95 models. The EGR picks up crud and stays open. It will do this intermitently. Dont recall having heard this on the V8 but. There was an aftermarket gasket with a stainless screen in it for the V6. may want to pull off the EGR and check the passage for crud while you have the rest of it apart.

well i spoke to dam soon it is still doing it  i should have taken it for a little longer drive

tried to go flying with a buddy an it is still doing it

Hay Rodney that corsair flys pretty fast got it dialed in

Friday sounds pretty nice what time could you be here

we might try flying an mecanicin ;)

will keep an eye on the wether an see what happens

next on the LIST is the EGR valve?

Marty
