Can someone let us know where we can order our fuel for the Nat's at Legg Lake.

We would like to get as close to our own 'brews' if possible so do we have a local manufacturer where we can place or orders and get it delivered to the hotel or the lake.

Any suggestions and e-mail addresses would be appreciated.

Hey Bill:

Remember you from a Nats somewhere way back, might have been New Orleans in '89, look forward to seeing you again in TN!

I know O'Donnell is in LA and makes great fuel. The only one I know of here that will mix "to spec" is Red Max, but they're in SC and will only ship quarts these days due to a dispute they're having with UPS.

You could always ship your own oil and buy raw ingredients from VP fuels. What sort of mix do you use?

Bill,

There should be several people with Fuel for sale at the NATS.

I would contact either Henry Velasco at (562) 862-3110 or Gary Moll at [email protected] if you want ODONNELL Fuel.

Lenny Blake should be able to take care of you if you are looking for Byron or Wildcat Fuel - http://www.rumracingproducts.com

Hope to see you there!

Dear Terry and Jay.

Many thanks for your reply's and suggestions.

Yes Terry, it has been a few years. I have to tell you though, I am much better looking now than I was back then. What about you, still flying? I don't know if it was Slidell in 89 or Sacramento in whatever. Trouble with drinking, you loose all your memory brain cells. Mind you, after the car park party with Greg Hill, his blender and the BeerRita's at Sacremanto, I was lucky to remember my name that year. That was a great party, sorry, Nationals. Didn't win much but had a great time. Now I have talked all these other Ozzy's into coming over to compete in both national events this year. We are looking forward to some great times and some great racing. Terry, are you going to be at both events?. I have told our guys about the famous 'Souhtern Hospitality' and they are all looking forward to their first encounter in Jackson. Mine was in Slidell in 89. That was the highlight of my model boating at that time and, let me tell you, it still rates as the one of the best meetings I have ever attended. You know, I met a lot of people at that meeting and most have become great friends. That's what it's all about. My philosophy is that the boats are only the 'common denominator' that bring us all together. After that is just plain 'party down' and ejoy the company of people with similar interests.

OK Jay. How is that great looking 'Coors' scale going? I don't think we have met yet so I have to tell you that Australian custom is that the tallest person has to buy the first drink when we meet. As I am a registered 'Short Ass'(4'11"), I guess it's your 'shout' (ozzy for you turn to buy the drinks) for the first drink when we get together. I am sorry but I only drink Beer (and then only MGD or Cornona). Alan Hobbs tries to get me into the 'scotch' thing but I like my liver too much. I must confess that I am what's called, over her, a 'cheap drunk'. That means it does not take too many to get me 'pissed' (drunk). I even embarrassed myself in front of the great prop guru Mr. Jim Schaffer in Slidell. The best part was that he was worse than me so it doesn't count.

And just to let you all know, I will have some Vegemite with me so you can all try it on your toast for breakfast. The only comment I will pass on about Vegemite is that Jim Sweeden (from Daisey.Ark.) said that it looks and smell like 'cat-fish bait'. I can't comment on that as I have never seen 'cat-fish bait'. I offered it to Authur McMeans and Jim Youngblood but they also passed.

Thank's for your recommendation Jay. I forgot all about my old mate Lenny. I will e-mail him and get things started. I actually saw him a couple of weeks ago when I was over for the Hydro Inviational in Slidell and went to visit my mates in Arizona for a few weeks after. For those that don't know. Greg Hill is building a new Twin 90 for the nats. I hope he gets Justin to drive. I guess the first race in Scottsdale will be interesting in that class.

Thanks guys for taking the trouble to reply. Looking forward to catching up with you both in a couple of months. Do you need anything from Oz? Steve Irwin sends his regards to all the model boaters. He looks like being at our nationals cum '2004 World Championshios' we are planning for 2004 Christmas. We have spoken to him about being at the awards banquet and it looks good. We are looking at him presenting the trophies. Your not afraid of little smakes or croc's, are you!

Thanks.

Bill,

I was using Byron fuel last time and didnt have a problem. I kept my comp the same and went to 60% on my 90 mono which usually just keeps plugs alive on 40% here.

EMS Racing close enough is good enough

Perhaps this explains the rather significant price jump on the '04 price list on the website, $40.36 single gallon price for 60%!! Granted it drops in price as quantity goes up but it's still $28.62 per gallon @ 16 case pricing. I'm sure glad I started mixing my own fuel a couple seasons ago! B) B) B) B)

Bill,

We'll have a blast at the Nats. I talked to Sue, Greg and Justin last February when I was out racing in scottsdale. They told me you guys all were gonna come to the 2003 Nats! I was dissapointed not to see you guys enter.

My cooler usually has some Corona, Bud Light and Michelob Light iced down. After racing is done each day, adult refreshment time it is. Few guys have been known to break out with the Gas Powered blender for some Ice Cold Margaritas!

I sold my Coors Light scale boat. I had a hard time doing it. Alfred Lanza hounded me about the boat, and I finally caved. He hasn't run it yet and I may end up buying it back down the road.

If you need anything else for the nats let me know. I am sure Lenny can get you squared away on just about everything, but if he can't - hit me up..

Take it easy... and Vegemite? Wtf is that? I am lactose intollerant and grew up on Vitamite (milk replacer) and it sucked, scared to think was Vegemite is? Smells like catfish bait? HAHA, where have you been storing it??!?!?!?!

Hey Jay, the driver in your (former) Coor's Light looks like he's scared to death!!

That's a HOLY #$%@ look if I've ever seen one!! :D :D :D

Ya, I used to buy nitro and prope from them until about 2 years ago when they said they couln't ship nitro in gallon containers any more and had to dilute the prope with alcohol to 90% to ship. Gave me some crap about new regs since 9-11. Called Klotz and they shipped no problem. Called FHS back and dug a little deeper and it turns out they don't like the extra paperwork involved with the haz shipping. I said thanks and "c ya".

Found out VP sells nitro in 5 gallon pails for around $28/gallon, plus methanol and prope. Even using a kart oil of there's now so all my components are from VP!

Yes Bill, I think it was Slidell, you always had a smile on your face and were never last in line when that great "chef" had the jambalya ready! That was a great time and yes, the southern hospitality is still alive and well. I get down to Alabama once a year and have made many great friends in the south, I tell em I'm just a Yankee "wannabe"

I can assure you from what I've heard of the Jackson bunch it'll be a great Nats with all the southern charm you can handle, and all the hard racing you need! Unfortunately I can't make both, but have been to Legg Lake and it's a beautiful facility. I'm sure that "other" organization will have some good racing for you too ;)

I still am a "heavy equipment operator" at the airport, got laid off a few years in the last recession but going well now, gives me lots of time to play with toys boats!

Looking forward to seeing you again and meating the rest of your mates, you have to let me go with you to the local "piggly wiggly" see the look on the cashier when you ask for some "shrimps for the barby" :p
