Speaking of storage problems and heat:
With the peak hot weather we are experiencing here in Southern Calif. the last few days (100 to 105 degrees F), my garage has been very hot internally (maybe 105 to 110 F, I'm guessing, during the day). So I've been making a point to check and inspect things daily as a safety precaution, just in case.
I noticed that one of my metal storage cabinets exhibited a noticeable smell upon opening the door. I realized that the plastic gallon bottles of Punch Racing Fuel (50%) had pressurized and oozed out, and leaked onto the bottom shelf inside the cabinet. So I removed the gallon bottles, set them on the garage floor on a sheet of plastic. I can't tell if they leaked from the top, or whether the bottom actually cracked under pressure? Kind of a mess. There was a full case (4 gallons).
I'm wondering, should I purchase new plastic or metal containers somewhere (Home Depot)? Transfer fuel to new containers? Other thing is I have no other location around the house to safely store this product (ie. where it does'nt reach these temperatures). This fuel has been stable for the most part maybe 4 or 5 years now inside of the metal cabinet. And I have periodicly checked the bottles for pressurization.
