Our contacts at the City of Flint and Genesee County have informed us that a temporary repair of the dam breach is in the works but it will be at least four to five months to complete the work. At this point we will have to cancel our Spring event but hope to be able to run in the Fall.

Some more information on the breach here:

We will post updates as they are available.

Terry, any word on how things are progressing on the dam repair or if the lake is filling again?

Nothing, sorry. We're hopeful it will be fixed this summer but as you know the City of Flint who has jurisdiction over the dam is in tough shape financially. Last I heard they have gone to the State for funding.

Good news! It looks like they should be finished work on the dam in the next few weeks, I'm sure by the fall we will have water again!

A huge thanks to Doug Murany who volunteered his time, truck and equipment to pull some huge rocks to shore that were a menace to both our outboard and our boats. Again Doug, many, many thanks.

Did you guys ever find lost parts out there? There has to be lot of sacrifices of glow plugs that were thrown to the pond Gods.

Thread Lake is really Thread Creek so with the constant moving water and lots of run off from the berms during rain & snow the amount of silt has to be really deep so finding anything would be pretty lucky.

I think anything that is left more than a day or two sinks into the primordial ooze that is the bed of Thread Lake.

I tried to walk out to fix a buoy in chest waders and sunk to my knees in no time...

Boats have stuffed and stuck in the bottom, some came up some never were found.

Great news! Just heard from the Murany's that the lake has been full for over a month!

Looking forward to our Fall event!

Will post it up as usual once I talk to our contact at the County.

Date is Sept. 29/30 with a backup of Oct. 6/7.

You forgot where it is after going there for close to 50 years?
