i have a problem with my flex shaft breaking between the coulpler and stuffing tube. this is my second shaft that has broke . wondering if there is a easy solution to this , i left a 1/8th gap between the drive dog and shaft bushing? I've ran my other vegas for months with no problem but this other vegas i got can't seem to keep it together.

First thing to check is that the stuffing box tube is lined up properly with the collet. Next is to make sure the collet is not warped. Spin the motor over and make sure the shaft is not rubbing the stuffing box tube.

True some times those stuffing tuhem and you dont realize it on my wifes this happened so i fixed it the stuffing tube doesnt moved i glued it in place.

i have touched handfuls of the aqua engines.. the aqua collets are most the time not true.. they tend to circle in a oblong,, this will break them there quick like... 9 times out of ten the aqua collet has been tightened to the point the flywheel mushes onto the brass ferrel at a angle.. this makes the flywheel follow that even with a good octura collet..best bet is to start over with a new flywheel,,ferrel,,and octura collet,, she should track straight then...

the stuffing tube not being lined up with the collet is also a very good suggestion...
