With the job losses, and economy in the gutter.....money is tight for us all...which is why I wanted to pose this question To those of you who run the p-spec class(which seems like the most bang for the buck), and or just run a sv27 powered hydro or rigger...how does the sv27 (1500kv? I believe...correct me if I am wrong) motor compare to the feigao-11xl motor also (1516kv) and or the himax-3630 1500kv. they are all not exact matches I know this..but close enough that I would like to know if anyone has run any of the above motors side by side on 4s or 6s etc..

Secondly...is the sv motor, or himax motor capable of 6s power? I know the feigao is..since I run one on 6s with good results.

Thanks in advance.

The SV-27 and the Black Jack motors are about equal.

They are rated at about 650 to 700 Watts continuous,

With a Max input voltage of about 17.5V

The Feigao 11XL motor is about 1300 Watts

And can take 6S -22.2Volts.

It is also a longer can with a longer armature, and puts out much more torque.

As I remember Grim said the SV27 motor KV is 1800 . Its in a thread on RR somewhere a couple yrs ago

That would be near 40,000 on 6S . not likely useful .

Thanks for all of your responses....do any of you have nay input on the himax 3630 1500kv motors? I know they are spec for some classes....such as the puget sound classes etc.

How about the new 6 pole aquacraft motors? I have heard some good things about those motors, matched with 4s lipos.

anyone, anyone?

Both Aquacraft Motors - SV-27 and the new UL-1 are 6 pole.

The BlackJack motor is 6 pole also.

You can't really trust the motor "ratings"... I can tell you very definitively that the SV27 motor is NOT 1900KV... the Himax motor and the ProBoat motors are also NOT 1500 KV... They ARE all right about the SAME KV, within their tolerances for efficiency, that is...

I have been running some tests on all these motors and will have some results to post eventually. I'm still waiting on some other motors to test. I should have a UL-1 motor to run tests on shortly as well...

For now, suffice it to say that, even though the SV, BJ, and HiMax motors all test unloaded at different KVs, LOADED with the same load, they all converge to just about the SAME KV... On the water, they all perform about the same... In fact, I ran a BJ motor in my SV27 with no other changes against our Spec SV27 boats for 6 different heats and you couldn't tell the difference... other than my stellar driving... ;)

Moral... Pick you motor based on what you can get, then learn to DRIVE WELL! B)

Thank you for your info, and post Darin. What sort of speeds are you getting with the above stated motors?...and what length of hulls are you running on. Best regards.
