i'm starting a fe tunnel hull build and was wonder how many hulls are there to choose from other then the vs 1 and top speed 3?

Any nitro tunnel can be used. It may take some modifiying the inside of the hull to get a full radio box in it.

I have a vision tunnel that was converted for FE. There is a thread on OSE by the previous owner who did the build. Kris Flynn also had one that he converted. I am sure there are several other hulls out there that could be done the same way. I was extremely happy with how well my boat ran at its first race, and I hope it gets better.

im going to offer a ready to go cobra tunnel with all mods done already, including a radio box around the middle of january. im working on a new bottom mold right now. but as soon as this is done then ill concentrate on a ready to run FE cobra. Dan H (cobra tunnel boats)

You should get a FE tunnel up and running for next years Storm Series. A buddy of mine was there with one of your tunnel hulls. I think Bill Gibson helped him with the setup a bit.

Woodstuff makes a few different sizes - wood over foam construction.

If I'm not mistaken, they hold a few of the electric tunnel records right now.

I have just put together a Lynx as a P-spec. I have only run the Lynx twice, but it runs great. I also have a Hydro&Marine F-1 Skater. That I 've been running for almost a year now, and it runs great too. Most nitro tunnels can be cnoverted to FE you have plan out and design a radio box that you can get everything in.As far as a RTR FE Tunnel the Stiletto is the only one I know of. I haven't personally run one, but I haven't seen any negative postings about it. I think the new Top Speed 3 comes with a radio box that can be set up to house all the electronics and battery pack. Hope this helps.

I'll second what Garrett said... Mike Crawford (Woodstuff Boats) makes a couple of great running tunnels that are easy to make into FE. He has a 28" and 30" hull available. I believe the 30" was designed with FE in mind. Several FE racers here in District 4 run them with great success. They are running the UL-1 motor, esc, and water jacket combo in them with m445 props. I believe they are using OS lower units as well. One is running a Lawless lower.

Here is a list of the most popular hulls for FE P-Limited OPC Tunnel hulls…

thanks for all the help guys . i think i will stick with a top speed 3 and make it look like a f1 .i just need to find mirrors that i can glue on .

the vision craft is a great spec tunnel you will get about 50 with a mild set-up. i also run the lee craft with a 1515 1y and it runs 60 easily. the eagle tree data on the vision is around 105 peak amps and 52mph, the lee craft eventually got 61mph pulling about 170 amps.. here are a few links including video. i would vote for the vision craft as i am sure it would be just as fast with that motor.

Just a heads up. Unless Mike has made some changes to his "FE" version, It still requires alot of work to be make FE ready. I bought one of his FE 30's and had had to rip out the radio box and replace it because it was'nt tall enough. The 30 is also very touchy on the set up.

My choice is Woodstuff. I have owned their 28, 32, 36, and 40" tunnels, all setup for FE. Currently hold 6 world records with them so I cannot say enough. Here is a 73mph SAW run with my Woodstuff 40! (Oh yeah, and the blowoff was into a 15+mph headwind!)
