Fantastic Race in Brandon , FL

WOW .. I can't say enough about how enjoyable and seamlessly this race went down . Tireless work by host CD Don Riek and district Pro CD Rany Premo with Guest appearances by new D3 Director Martin Ebersfeld .

Major prescence by the "LOW COUNTRY SYNDICATE " from South Carolina made this race extra special with heavy competition in both nitro and Gas classes .

The real highlight of the event for me besides the wicked battles in X Nitro Hydro and GX1 Gas Hydro were the intense driving displays by the younger BAD BOYS of RC , Josh Kindred , Josh Black , Alex Black , Zach Junker and Chad Grannis . Man this is what it's all about .....these guys are so calm , cool and on their game it's scary !!! Their dads are thrashing keeping them on the water and deserve many accolades for fostering the hobby .These are moments etched in time that will be remembered forever . Man it's all about fun and competition ...and this race has lit my fire big time !!!! Thanks Brandon Model Boaters and all who entered and showed for this epic battle !!

Mark Grannis displayed some awesome driving in my favorite class , X Hydro to bring his Roadrunner Twin in for victory !! You are the Man !!!! Till the next one ..Foley out .

Don, Randy, and ALL Brandon club members....this one rates right up there with this years Winternats for me as far as havin fun goes...you guys just seem to get it right time after time! Andy im so happy fer ya man...yer first win at a 2-day race! But you gotta admit ol Hot Rod and me gotcha purty good at the trophy presentation..20 years ago we woulda thrown yer ass in the POND! :lol: :lol: "GO FAST" or MR. "THRASH"...either way you kept puttin em back together and takin the wood! Good job man...sure was great to see Larry Beals back and yeah...he's still friggin fast! RTR was a BLAST! Congrats Carlos! Enjoy The PINK shirt as i can tell you right now that Candy, JJ and Rhonda (and maybe more ladies) want it back REAL BAD! :lol: :lol: It was a real pleasure to meet all of the SC and GA folks...James you gotta keep them girls in line man! I DO think there should have been a spectacular blow over award though as it appears thats the only thing im good at with my scale boat, cause i sure cant seem to finish heats with it AARRGGHH! :blink: Wonderful time..Wonderful people! okay, i'm up and moving. got home about 2am . had a great time with those bmb's, kept everything moving. met some new people, and saw some old ones. great job and some great racing, will have to do this one again.

i could not even get near the cd stand without don r giving me some kinda sh^%, i did not know i was loved that much i suppose i deserve everything i got, did try and slip one past don, and got caught. mental note( do not cut course from launch ) lap down before i even got a lap.

Your twin was the "TOP DOG" this last weekend! It is very fast and handles great! I backed in to this one. I will keep getting more out of mine, and I look forward to the next time! I'm happy to say it does look like the big block niro hydro classes are trying to make a comeback.

I agree, that it is nice to see some young talent out there. I was impressed by both the Black youngsters. They both have good boats with great driving instincts.

Josh Black...keep it up! The last two races you've showed strong reliability, accumulation of points, and good driving skills. You have my attention, and I look forward to racing with you.

Don, Randy, John, and the whole BMB thanks for all your hard work. I really enjoy your site. It is a drivers pond. We had a great time.

Thanks Mr. Foley. Always fun running at these races. Was able to see the Blacks run this weekend as well as Charleston and have been impressed.

Thanks to the Brandon club as well… a great race. Other than my big screw up in X hydro, I had an awesome time.

I have Tim in training, but gee whiz, it sure is taking a VERY LONG TIME. LOL. In fairness to him, he did no bad pitting for me at all. I had Gabe, Don, Rick and Tim helping at various times and my luck remained bad. But I WAS wondering if he was a jinx for a while.

I was fighting engine issues all weekend. My 40 hydro dunked in heat 1 and broke a piston. Replaced the engine for heat 2 it finished but looked like the engine has a bent rod and locked up. Replaced it again and was grabbed by the pond monster along the back straight past the clock that I was warned about on Friday. Finished heat 4, WOW. My 60 and 90 rigger boats had needle issues during race days, not last weekend or on Friday at open water. Go figure. My 20 rigger had a left rear sponson come loose and caused me to smack the buoy in the runoff. Had a good time at the race with everyone but the results stunk! 4th, 4th, 5th and 7th places are not my usual results. I know what I need to do to fix the issues and will get it done over the winter. I will be ready to compete again at the level I expect from myself and what I am accustomed to do at a race.

Well done to the Brandon club and enjoyed meeting many new people. Class act all of you. All are right about the Black family, I have to contend with racing against them every club race. They are a handful and gang up on me but I have held my own for this year. Next year I think it likely will be different.
