Attached is the race entry flyer for the Fall Nationals being held in Charleston, SC, Oct 9-11. This race is now a 3 day race with racing starting on Friday at 8 am. There is a 225 boat limit and we expect it to sell out quickly like it did last year. PLEASE do not delay in getting your entry sent in. It is our intent to have some breathing room that will not be at a breakneck pace and can handle lousy weather if needed. Open water on Wednesday (uncontrolled) and on Thursday (controlled). A large number of nitro, tunnel and gas classes are being offered for the race.

THe Lands Inn Motel, Savannah Hwy, Charleston, is offering a special race rate of $59 per night and is valid from Wed 7 Oct through Sunday 11 Oct. Use the name of Charleston Boat Race to get the good rate. DEADLINE for this rate is Saturday, 26 Sept. If you want to come in earlier, call up and ask for Penny (Owner) or Sam (Mgr) and they will extend the rate for you. Page 2 of the flyer has the motel and driving directions information.

The flyer is in MS WORD. If anyone can convert and upload it as a PDF file I would appreciate it.

John

Hey John,

how have you been? How are the entries looking for your race, sure not alot being said on here about it.

Hope to see ya there, not sure if I'll be able to race, but do plan to come over & visit

Rick

The entries are coming in at a fairly constant rate but we have plenty of room. I am trying to get an exact count of racers, boats and class standings for entries but will not have it until later this week. There is room for anyone to come and as far as I know, every class is open for entries. A lot of racers entered are from the VA/MD area north and FL south. Hoping for our GA, TN & ALA brothers that came last year to get theirs in as well.

Some are waiting to enter due to the economy and after the internats have been completed. That will create a rush of entries in the last 45 days before the race. If you plan on coming get your entries in very soon to ensure you will not get closed out.

Rick come and enter - want to run with you in 20 hydro class for sure!

Been recovering from knee surgery for 6 weeks and still have about another 4-6 weeks to go before I am totally back. I have been like Walter Brennan & Hopalong Cassidy. Impossible to keep up with my 3 year old grandson recently.

Hey John, Harvey and I are entered and you should have our entries by now.don't know

for sure who else is coming from Knoxville yet but, i'm sure a couple more or so

will end up there.had a great time there last year and plan on even a better time

this year, just try to do something good with your weather .

Mark ;)

Marl,

Got info that both you and Harvey's entries have come in. All so far from the Knoxville Gang but hope that many more will come.

There are 106 boats entered as of yesterday against a 225 boat limit. If you plan on entering, get it in very soon because a rush of entries can fill up the remaining open slots in a quick hurry.

We did the rain and bad weather avoidance dance for our tunnel champs race in May and it worked. We had very good weather, no rain, mostly sunny and mild winds. Will do the same for the Oct race.

Harvey and others

Harvey we will correct your stuff tomorrow. Thanks for bringing it to our attention. Anyone who wants to see list of classes and drivers it is posted on Jim's Boat Dock. I will check with Randy to see when he is going to get it on here. Hopefully tomorrow.

We would also like to thank everyone who has sponsored classes so far but we still have a lot open. You can contact John or Randy and the forms can be downloaded.

And as every club who puts on a race we are actively seeking raffle items for this race. Anything and everything we can get will be greatly appreciated. You can contact Randy or I for a address so these items can be shipped.

Thanks in advance for everyones support.

We are just over halfway (115) boats towards the 225 boat limit for the race. If you plan on coming, get your entry in very soon to ensure you can race all of your boats. Refer to the other thread for the list of racers and the boats entered.
