Please go to the RTR section of this site to post responses to this post where it was originally posted:

Just got back from Evansville. I watched Chuck Hildreth pilot the new Vegas Deuce to a dominating performance in completely stock form. All respect to Chuckie for denying the first place trophy and allowing my son to take third overall. The new Deuce is faster than all of the other RTR boats. However the driver was also extremely experienced and the combination of the two was too much to overcome. The RTR class is growing and will be evolving over the next few years. Congratulations to Hobbico for continuing to update and innovate their hulls.

Since there has been so many changes to this new boat, maybe we should consider having RTR sport at least in district 14 similar to the way we run B sport tunnel. Here are my suggestions for the class:

Stock motor in any current or past production of this boat

Stock pipe from any production version (any pipe the manufacturer introduces as either a production item or hop up part from them)

Stock turn fin from any production version

Stock rudder " " " "

Any prop

Front sponson modifications in ride pad area allowed to allow competitiveness with all production versions of the hulls.

I think if we keep this light and rule limited we can develop a class of boats that will allow changes with time and keep those with previous versions of the hull competitive. Each district can set their own rules for classes that are not specifically layed out -- like RTR. I think we should move forward to develop this class as listed above and with recommendations from other fellow boaters.

Awesome race EvEnsville. "Where you go to get even" as quoted by Bass Pro Shop driver and Sport 40 winner .... ummm.. sir saywhat's his name.

Awesome facilility and great group of guys to play boats with. Except for Cowboy of course. Do we have to post the race schedule so he is always aware of when the next race is going to be?

Awesome time guys and it was great to hear new voices on the microphone along with the trusted ones of years past. Great job Aaron Johnson for jumping in with both feet into this boat racing thing and smooth race to Ryan the new E'ville Pres.

The season appears to be a great one and I look forward to cutting many many more of you off going into turn one.

See you all soon, thanks again.

Chuck and I just got back, everything is out of the van, and we are set to make repairs and get ready for the next race. I want to thank the evansville gang for putting up with us and doing a great job over the weekend. I had to actually steal the mike just so I could call one heat. It was a great job by the River City Racing club. New guys stepped up and did great. Cheryl Bennedict (probably spelled that wrong) stepped up in sick hubby Buddys place and was a great pit boss. There we so many new helpers I dont know all thier names to thank! This extra time Mikey had to work on his boats and not just on the race allowed him to keep his boat together and Run an awsome sport 40 race in a huge class. He ran smooth all weekend and that almost always Means victory. Also backing Buddy's smack talk was Johnathon B. showing his way to second in the class. Man, was there some great racing in that class or what? The class was fast and deep! Thanks again guys for a great race! OH, and in June, the 08 champ of sport 40 will be back and I will see if I can keep up with the crowd. haha!

OH, and Auquacraft did a great job upgrading the Vegas. The boat planed well, was versital on the start with good throtle ability, it was quieter than before, and faster. I think the third Hildreth will be showing up at a race near you soon with his new vegas. Great ideas for the class Chris. but you forgot one rule. No fairy dust allowed on Garrens boat!! haha!! Ken

Great Spring shootout this year, racing and weather was hot.

Proud to report another first place win for the old sport 20 hydro. James and Cheryl were fast and James spoiled my perfect score with a first in the last heat we ran.

James I have that picture of the 20 hydro bouy killer for you

I will get some pictures posted of the sport and scales too.

Thank you to all of the Evansville gang I had a great time very well run race wiht no big flare ups by anyone. A special thanks to Mike Zambroski for the set up tips he put out on other threads here on I'waters for setting up the VS-1 and and also for setting the Futaba 3pk transmitter up for marine use his set up tips really did help great product support by Mike Z .

Well once again the Eville gang did an outstanding job absolutely 2nd to non. I do not no the names of all of the new members yet but hats off to you for stepping up and helping put on a great race. A big O "ataboy" to Ryan Hobby for his first race as President. Congrats to the Bass pro boat and Mike Schindler in a great sport 40 win....WOW what a tough field of drivers with 20 + boats!!!!!!! I want to personally thank Mike Zaborowski (Grim Racer) for some great side by side racing!!! and to Mike and Aquacraft for making the RTR class and the sport 20 tunnel class very affordable, fun and extremely competitive. 5 year old Garron Jenkins did an awesome job in the RTR class with a solid 3rd place and young Mathew Shimick is going to be strong in the sport 40 and D tunnel class as well. It is great to see some of the younger kids start racing. In a nut shell it was a great weekend for all. Thanks Eville gang your awesome.

P.S.

Lets all say a prayer for Buddy Bennidict, get well soon!

Guys, big thanks to all of you too. got to meet lots of new people, and working the stand really helped putting some names with faces.Chris, thanks for the kind words, to tell ya the truth I was really nervous when they first asked me to CD, normally dont like talking especially on mikes in front of people, but I enjoyed every minute of it. Garron was awesome, everytime my boat died, he gave me someone to watch, pretty cool kid!!. Ken, maybe I'll share the mike a little bit next time.........hint the word maybe     . Looking forward to racing with you all again. Hopefully with better results this time instead of a bunch of goose eggs, but hey, I had fun anyway! See you all in June.

The EvEnsville guys got us this time in Sport 40, but hey thats why its Evensville, next time I will get even  , and I am happy with a third out of 24 :p . I would also like to thank Mike Z for letting me try the new Miss Vegas, there is some good racing in RTR. It was awesome to see Garron geting a trophy and coaching Matt a couple times in open tunnel. They are already great drivers and the more Young drivers to kick butt the better B) . Buddy get better soon so I can race you in some gas cat! Great job everyone, it was a great race.
