Since it's a little too cool still to run the boat, I got my old car out this weekend. I replaced the cam shaft and now when I run the engine (os cvr 12) it seems to only want to run in reverse. Any ideas why this would be?

I figured this wasn't too off topic since it still relates to nitro engines. Sorry if anyone is offended.

if it is a new engine it might have too high of compression so double up the glow plug washers that is what i did with my k & b 3.5

CVR-12 with camshaft ?? What are you talking about?? Is not that a .12 size 2 stroke engine? and does not have a camshaft. Scott

Sounds like you put the backplate on wrong. Does it have two circles were the crank pin can go into?? Rotate it to the next hole and you shopuld be okay.

Starter connected up the wrong way around? Can't see any other reason why a small crankshaft induction motor would start up in reverse.

Is it the 12CV with recoil starter?

If so:

Did you mount the one way clutch correctly?

Maybe you rotated it 180 degrees when reassembling the engine???
