Hope someone can or knows someone who can help me here?

We have some sensors we use for our electronic timing for SAW speed runs with boats. I need to get a buzzer to go off when the "beam" is broken to allert the driver they have started/completed a pass.

I have played with it a bit, but i cannot get the relay to work when connected to the timing box. It may be as simple as the box doesnt put out enough volts to trip the relay and if that's the case, how else can we get a buzzer to go off automatically??

Hopefully someone can help so Aaron Ozspec can stop complaining

You need a SPDT relay. That way when you lose power (beam) it will allow horn to blow. You will need to use a separate power source for the horn.

Thanks Jon, I have a couple of options now, hopefully the analog one works first time.

cheers

Just get one of those air horns that is loud as hell. Blow that off everytime they go by. Make sure you point it right at them so they get the full effect. Dont want them to miss it. See if they like that. Then they will want to go back to the old way. LOL
