What effect does the engine location have on how a boat rides? Further from transom = wetter?

Thanks

Well, Yes!

The farther forward your weight, the farther forward your CG????

The wetter the boat will ride.

A dramitization here, but take a brick and place it on the nose of the boat, what do you think will happen?

I figured. Reason I was asking is I was double checking all measurements on a seaducer 60/80 (trying to eliminate reasons besides prop and strut why it is running wet) and realized the engine is an inch closer to the transom than it is supposed to be. It is at 15" when the instructions say it should be 16" away but that should not be causing the wet issue. If anything should be making it looser. Thanks

Have you worked out your power issues, IE: pipe too short, over propped?

I will tell you, when I started running my 60 Ducer I ran an OPS 67 in it, with the marginal power of the OPS I would have to burn off fuel before it would loosen up, so what I'm saying is, it would run wet till I lighted the load.

So, the hull is sensitive to power & load, you need the power to get it out of the water.

So, till you get the engine to "come on pipe" and get it propped correctly it will not run right

When closer to transom then specified (when all other variables are the same = I like CG % better) it should run lose and imo be faster, but not more reliable.

Tank tray location is as important as the engine location. Strut ride height?, type of Prop? Correct rudder & length? Spec Turn fin? Has the bottom of the boat been wecked or damaged?
