Julian,

13" inside sponson seperation ,equal measurements on both sides. I think 4-5/8" from tub to inside sponson. Do the rear of the sponsons first, then the front.

props: Cut down 46mm 3.4.-3.6 cup or not 1450,H7.I would try stock first.

strut depth level with rear skids with slight positive angle"The way it pushes the nose down" I think thats positive.

Turn fin bend level

All this should get you started.

Hello Julian, to set the strut, lay a straight edge on the top of the center ski. Loosen the strut, and set the strut on the straight edge and tighten the strut. You will then have strut set with some negative(rear of strut will be lower than the front of the strut) No toe in on front sponsons. H-4s and 46 mm dia H-7s with 3.2- 3.5 cup will work well with 60% fuel. A great pipe to run is the CMDI fat pipe, set up around 7 and 3/8ths or so. Have fun! Richard D

Correct, no toe in sponsons!!! Julian Does your SGX have the center skid?? because on the sgx 2 the center skid is not installed.

Make certain that the turn fin bend is parallel with the bottom of the tub.

I found that in most situations I need to shim the right front sponson boom about 1/32" to 1/16". If the boat wants to auger itself in through the corners lift the front boom a bit more until it rides nice and smooth through the turns.

For me, and most of my running is at altitude above 2000 feet, I drop the strut as far as it can go in the center sponson. If your boat has no center sponson, I'd drop it a bit lower than the sponsons. Keep the strut parallel and use a lifting prop. At our altitudes, I like the 1445 with 3.2" to 3.4" pitch.

This is a good starting point for me. All adjustments should be small as this boat responds very well to small adjustments.

When set up properly, the Eagle SG and the subsequent Eagles are almost too much fun to drive. Keep your mouth closed while driving so that your heavy breathing does not suck in any bugs.
