Do anyone have the Andy Brown Eagle SGX2 45. How do it run compaired to the SGX 45? Is it faster? Do it handle better? What engine do you use? What pipe do you use? What is the best prop? What fuel do you use?

Should we take that ast you are a little bit unhappy with the performance Buck ? B) ;)

I haven't had much luck with my new SGX 2 45. I tested it out last week but couldn't get it to run fast like or better than my old SGX 45. I tried all the prop that run good with my SGX 45 but nothing worked. I even tried different strut depts. I don't know where to go from here.

Same here Mr. Hooks but it seems I was given some bad build information (no build/set up sheets came with my boat). I'm going to start over.

Andy did confirm that smaller blade area is required for this boat as compared to the SGX.

i have a friend who had a 67 boat.. sgx 2 ( I THINK ) could have been the sgx.. again not 100% sure.. but that thing was loaded terrible compaired to his original sg.

we could not get the motor to spool up at all with a ton of prop changes pipe changes ect..

I am not up to date on the newer eagles.. they seam much tighter on the water than when i run original sg's yrs ago.. i wonder if the TUB height has anything to do with this?? they look much closer to the water than the old boats? maybe that is why the older boats had a tendicy to blow off alot?

just observations.

Roger,

Have you had any further luck with your boat?

I believe we had the same initial problem (rear sponson orientation).

I ran it again a few weeks ago with the rears corrected and strut depth corrected. It would flat haul the mail down the straights but would fall off sharply with any rudder input to get thru the corners. I'm told that my strut angle was WAY too flat. I'll crank more shaft angle into it and try again soon.

Yes Buck! Add more shaft angle and while your at it add more angle of attack to the front sponsons to make sure they stay clean. Keep adding until you get the whole boat a little too loose and then bring it back down a little.

My SGX2 was a rocket. I added angle of attack to the front sponsons till it got loose then backed off just a shade. It was very fast and handled better than my SGX.

Is my boat a sgx 2 or a sgx it has the newer airfoil rear sponsons design and the flex shaft exits the bottom of the boat is has no wood shell around it it is raw, there is a few guys in our club where theres has the wood shell that goes around the flex shaft. any help would be great.

Yours is a SGX2--- And it hauls the mail.
