Is it the way the steering seems to tighten up quickly in the 2nd half of the turn that is indicative of the servo issue?

Grim is correct, more powerful steering servo

I went from Hitec 645 in my 16cell BL villain tunnel to a Futaba 9351 digital. Made a world of difference. The boat had huge torque problems coming out of the turns like what is shown in the video. Except with the huge power plant on the back of mine it would do a 360 turn or flip out.

New servo with over kill 13.8kg at 6volts, but it is fantastic to be able to drive flat out and turn in about 8meters.

With the new servo, I was able to compete with the 3.5's running at penrith on the weekend. I felt 100% in control of the boat all the time. Very responsive and a pleasure to drive. I wish i had put this servo in a year ago.

Check out the penrith club peter. Great bunch of guys there. On race days you might even be able to run you e OBT with them. It sure looks quick enough.
