The paint scheme that Dumas uses dictates that it should be the 1989. However, there are a few problems with the hull configuration that are not exactly scale for either 1989 boat. There were two boats..."The Pink Lady" was the primary with the radiused Jones sponsons, short nose and recessed transom. "The School Bus" was the older boat that started life as the '84 Atlas. It had a lslightly wider cockpit and a longer nose that extended past the canard by a couple feet. Also, pointed Lucero sponsons, a flat transom except for small nodes below the vertical mounts and the rear cowl vent had a vertical vane down the center where the primary boat did not. The Dumas hull has sponsons that more resemble the "School Bus" hull but the transom is recessed like the "Pink Lady". Both boats did have the same paint scheme though. Chip ran the primary boat most of the season until he flipped it and broke it in half on Lake Onendaga, NY. He drove the "School Bus" in the Northwest.
