Aussie, what is it that you seek, I have a few engines, possible a hull or two that I'd be willing to part with? Let me know what you're chasing and I might be able to help you out in some way

Johno :D

NO

By the time we pay to get it here it ussually cost about the same as a brand new item listed some where else.

Where are you from and what are you looking for?

Lol

I should qualify the following statement by stating first that I live clear on the opposite side of the planet, and that I’ve only spoken two Aussies (who actually live in Australia).

This has given me enough info to form an opinion from a Yanks point of view:

I’m convinced that some Australians are controlling the market in particular products, for example: I know one person that has like 12 tunnel boats in his garage. I’ve talked to another that has sold practically every CMB motor on the continent; and guess what…he’s holding most of the records.

I’m convinced the guy with all the tunnel boat s is plotting to control the Australian tunnel market at some point in the near future. yea...you know who you are

I’m still putting pieces of this puzzle together, so I’ll inform you guys when I get it all figured out. :p

<_< I see it this way: The aussies are in need of so much stuff most are looking to buy and NOT sell. I have sold stuff on the boards quite a few times and almost half the inquires are from OZ. Go figure  Scott

I would ask this. WHY IS QUALITY R.C. STUFF SO HARD TO GET IN OZ?

Probably because serious RC boat stuff is such a small market that the few importers there are cant carry all the stuff that people might want.

The advent of the internet and improving exchange rates means that many Aussies are importing there own stuff! B)

Nitrocrazed racing: VERY low volume imports.....

Hi Everyone,

As one who lives in Australia and understands how hard it can be to get good gear I have the following observations.

Most of the people in Australia in the Hobby industry are not interested in supporting boaters.

Those that do are trying to make a living from it or support their own addiction, and either need to or want to make good money from it.

If you really want soemthing you have to be prepared to pay for it and Aussies can be as tight as a fishes @$$ when it comes to handing over the $.

As a person who barely has enough stuff to get by, :D lol, and needs more room in my garage - yeah I know who I am  . There will be good buy's on tunnels and more hulls available in 2004 from the National Capital. B)

Basically what do you want and how much do you want to pay???????

GT

I just have to jump on in on this one -can't help myself!

1st problem - national poulation of only 20 million people. a very small % of them play boats!

2nd problem - the exchange rate.

3rd problem - model boat stuff is probably one of the smallest sectors of the r/c trade. It is tiny compared to planes and cars. Not many retailers sell boat gear unfortunately. There are a few specialist boat retailers such as hobby supplies and Xcell products.

Izit - i had a good chuckle about your CMB agent comment - I can recall 4 different CMB agents in the last 10 years here in Oz. Admittedly they prolly didn't sell anywhere near what Tony G has sold in the last few years. He has done a lot for CMB sales here - they are by far the most common engines here.

Think about this. The foot and the pipe which are sitting beneath IZITBROKEYET's mod engine ?

You know where they came from?

Okay then you know how hard you can get parts in Europe :D And you guy's know the tax overhere? However we have an advantage of a strong Euro......

Hi guys, Ive opened up a small website with a few bits and pieces on it. I'm based in Brisbane and will be looking to cater more for big offshore class stuff as I have a 1860mm long cat mould underway which will use two G260 engines. I'm into gas riggers with a view to going fast in 2004. I also do some designing and manufacturing to order as well.

Cheers, Danny.
