I have raced the Grand Prix series in District 13 since it started 13 years ago and have been very happy however I have heard that significant racers are unhappy, have you heard from them.

I've heard the term "significant racer" before. I've never understood what that means. To me ANY racer that pays his dues, entries, etc and showes up at the races, IS a "significant racer".

To answer your question, no sir, I haven't heard from anyone that is unhappy or knows of someone who is.

Perhaps it's just noise.

I'll try a different approach.

Deryl and I love the Grand Prix ..to us it is also just a bunch of friends getting together to have fun racing boats. If we can do anything to help the district please let us know. jj

Doug, As you know I`am not a Dist 13 member, But I have raced in your Dist for 12 years & have tried to support the races & classes, As you know many clubs are divided into groups of people & most just want there input to be Noticed. Some want control over the monies in the club being spent, But it takes a active president to Gather all of the info & ask for suggestions to make model boating more interesting & competive, as I started boating in 99 I thought it was all about the boats... & I have wrecked, Raced & Blown up my share. But Later you find out it is all about the People First, then the Boats. We attended the Spring Nats & had a Great Time boating with Atlanta Model Boaters as we Normally do. I wish you Great Success Getting the Dist 13 back to Rocking. Norman & Wendy have been the pillar blocks for the club for the 12 years I have been boating. I have Great Respect for both.. for the time & efforts they have devoted. You guys have some boaters that are interested in Gas, Nitro, & Electric So you got as Good Mix for Club Members. Ask for there Suggestions & Lets get Back to racing. I`am No electric boater... But I dig that 3-400 plus amp seaducer that is in your club.

In all seriousness Joe made a great point, sometimes you gotta remember it ain't all about the boats, it goes deeper than that. I like to win just as much as the next guy BUT once I started putting having FUN with my boating buddies above winning it became that much better. I've enjoyed some good racing in D13 at both Atlanta and Charleston, hopefully you're the guy to make everyone remember it's about the FUN and hanging out together. B)
