Dick, HS 81 Servo Q

Hello Dick,

I picked up a couple HS 81s, you think they would hold up well in a 12 cell boat? For their size they seem to have the right amount of grunt.

81 huh? That seems pretty small, but my guess is you'll try it anyway! I've always used the 225 MG's in just about everything.

I've run a few 81's in 6 and 8 cell stuff and had no problems. 12 cells??? Keep me posted.

Hi Paul,The HS 81 has enough power but if you open one up you will think it over.The gear train is very tiny and the teeth are eazily broken.

I run these in 6 and 8 cell aplications knowing that one good wack and I will be buying a $5.00 kit to replace the gears.

There may be a metal gear kit available just call Hi tec.Im with Dick stay with the mg servos if you can.

There is an 81 MG kit and I'm sure the gears would fit into the standard 81 servo. It works hat way with the rest of the hitec stuff.

I agree with Dennis, Metal gears is the only way to go. I think all of my 225's are metal and the ones that weren't, did strip out and got metal gear replacements.
