Cowl locks

Any one have a set of the older Aeromarine cowl locks? The push button ones? I ordered the new set but they are not as flush mounting like i want..................................

did you get the ones that have the knob? I think Speedmaster has the push button ones

Hey Mikey....you ought to try some of those rare earth magnets(the tiny ones that hold like crazy). Put two on the cowl and two one the boat and fuhgetaboutit. Rigged up my sport 40 with them and the only time the cowl comes off is when I blow off and then it really doesn't matter. I do get some strange looks when I just plop my cowl on and launch the boat. another vote for the rare earth magnet.i mounted mine to the cowl and the other side to homemade aluminum brackets and all you see is the head of a nice little stainless hex screw.

you can pick the boat up by the cowl... :lol:

mine sometome does not even come of during a bloww off. and I think i have the blow off issue cured now. :lol:

Im an old fart,something about magnets and radio freq that bugs me.. Oh well never thought i could run my boat with a garage door opener either LOL

I am running fm as probably you are or something better ...never as much as a glitch.

I also use the rare earth magnets and these little things are just crazy strong.

Got them from Fred Herzog.

No problem what so ever with the radio.
