What are you guys using to hold the cowls on on your Jae or similar riggers.I have an idea but wanted to see what everyone was using .

you can use the small balll links on the actual cowl with o-rings mounted to the side of the boat with 1/8 inch landing gear straps

you can also use servo arms mounted on top of the hull and swing them into place when you set the cowl on.

just a couple of ideas.

We're using magnets for the GAS version they work great .

Hey tmunn,

I am going with NEO magnets from K&J magnets. I bought the 3/8 dia x.062 neo's. Very light and secure.

One thing to keep in mind when using magnets is the y will slide pretty easy so you need a block to keep the cowl from sliding back. Nice thing is when they do release they do not tear anything up.

I use the Aquacraft cowl lock and mount. It's nice and small and you only need 1 on the right hand side if you're using a front exhaust engine.

I have secised to go the small magnet route , i have them on my sport 20 and they work fine .I am going with one magnet in the hull and a small peice of metal in the cowl on the 12 because it is very tight in that area.
