We have the newest generation CMB 27 ALPHA's in stock. These have the 3rd generation of cranks that work great. We will also have replacement cranks for the older generation motors.

On the first 5 motors sold, we will offer a $60.00 discount! Price on these 5 motors will be $900.00.

Mark Grim has run one of these new ones above 22,000 rpms. However, it is recommended that you keep in the 21,000 range. I spoke with CMB about their opinion on the ALPHA comparered to the other newest gas motors available and Mauro (owner of CMB) says he has won easily against the others.

Mark also set a new record in NAMBA with the ALPHA.

The only modifications I have done is match the case ports to the ports in the sleeve and give it alittle more exhaust port timing. I have one in my rigger and my wife has one in her Y-6 mono. The mono weighs 18.5 lbs and runs in the mid 60's and set a NAMBA 2- lap record in real bad water.

I have turned the motor over 22000. Sounds like a nitro at that rpm.

Thank you for your time emailing back and forth with me. I am anxious to get the Alpha and I will give you a call like I said I would.

I'm very excited to run a CMB in my U16 Elam. I've been winning with the 67 green head in my U100 Miss Rock for years and years. I want the best for my gasser boat too. As i expressed in my emails, i am concerned about how well the Alpha will perform in my Elam because it weighs in at 24 lbs wet.

So if there is anyone here that can give me some feed back as to what I can expect, now is the time. Share with me your thoughts. Mark and Stu have convinced me that it's a motor for me, but, I still want to here from others too.

Is the header aluminum?

Should I use a steel pipe or aluminum?

Header is steel. Pipe also is steel. Mark can give you the specs on where to get the pipe.

One of the biggest frustrations with my RCMK was finding a steel headder. until i did, i had to run an aluminum header witnh a steel pipe. Well, for those who haven't experienced an aluminum header with a steel pipe, you better have atleast 3 of those headers on hand to get through a weekend of racing. the steel pipe eats up that aluminum like a Langalleer.

I assume it's a 7/8 header. Guess I better get my call in to ya and get it ordered. NAMBA Nationals are at our pond this year in July. I will try to have the Alpha ready and hot in my U16 to take the trophy home.
 
Hi boys & girls, Just to let you know this past Sunday at Legg Lake Ca. Kim Grim driving her pretty pink Y6 mono powered by the alpha 27 set a new NAMBA GX-2 mono record with a 6 lap time of 1: 29!!!

The Alpha 27 has a new wider bearing retainer on the crankshaft. I have been running two engines

with the new retainers and have not one problem.

The first engine has over 5 gal of gas and the second has 3 gals running time. The first engine is run in my rigger and the second run in my wife's Y-6 mono. The mono now holds both the 2- Lap and the 6-Lap NAMBA records.

I am currently swapping all the cranks in the engines that I have in stock to the new wider retainer. I also have 6 of the latest version from CMB with the new retainers.

We have a sale on engines at this time so feel free to call me and get this great running engine.

Hi Mark, thanks for the reply, calling you from Australia is a bit pricey. The retainer you mention is for the conrod big end bearing?

I have a CMB27 that runs okay, I have run quite a lot and, at this stage I havent had any issues with the conrod bearings.

I don't know why you're having problems finding a header for an RCMK as they use the same ones as all of the other gas engines. Even on the RE engines you can hook up a steel header if you can find them. I know of a few that carried those. I know, I've done it and run RCMK's almost exclusively. I had a RE in my JAE gas 'rigger.

Hell must be freezing over how that Stu is going gas!

It had to be a CMB though. I'm not going to ask what you're dropping it in as I think that I already know the answer to that one but I saw that last year you had fun playing with a Jersey Skiff. The CMB might be a bit much for one of those hulls.
