If I'm Going to tear it down its windex and rubbing alcohol then my secret steak marinade to lube her back up.

Wouldn't be a secret if I told you:) I use turbine oil from a pilot buddy of mine. Recommended by Glenn Quarles the previous Nova distributor.

For the boat- Spray nine Grez-off. Safe on the Aluminum.

Motor, Burn off remaining nitro with starter and hot shot. Flush with WD liquid, blow out. Then a shot of Air tool oil. OMHO

I use the Robert Holland procedure, run out remaining fuel/nitro. Run about 60 seconds using FAI fuel (methanol only) until the engine is semi hot. WD on and around the flyweel bearings. Pull the plug and spray WD and spin out the excess with the starter.Windex to cleanup the hull.

Like Ray says X2, you cannot use too much after run. Marvel Air Tool is what i use, NOT Marvel Mystery Oil not the same it can destroy o-rings and seals over time, don't forget to flush water jacket every time with WD. Buy the WD by the gallon and use with squirt bottle.

Yeah buddy on the WINDEX spraydown!!! Im still using WD40 to flush out the motor, then SOAK the motor inside and out with the same stuff, then SHAKE whatever comes off and out of the motor and put 'er back in the boat! That's how ive been doin it for over 30 years......seems to work for me!

90% isopropyl alcohol for the hull interior, Windex for the outside of the hull. After run is methanol & 30% Byron's oil (95% synthetic/5% castor), I use a separate tank, run the engine dog azz rich (it will run hotter than on 65% fuel) at a fairly high idle. I leave the glow igniter on during the entire after run procedure. I will use my finger over the carb to keep it rich & the rpm down. Run until hot, at least a minute. Disconnect line, let it run out, crank it with the glow plug igniter still on to burn out any methanol, put it in the car - done.

I have used many after run products. Right now corrosion x but it's pricey for flushing the engine. One theory had wo for me. Whatever you use flush them out very well. When it seems like you have it all flushed out, do it again. Make sure internals are free of water alcohol or anything but a lubricating product. In long storage I'll spray in some lube and spin over a bit. Most of my engines have lasted years with this and regular bearing changes.
