Congratulation Dan Proulx of the Edina Model Yacht Club Fast Electric Group.
Not only did he set a new NAMBA record in N2 Mono, but he walked away with our 2 High Points trophies: Overall and Spec High Points. (The latter awarded to the best finishes in LSH, LSO, and LS Mono.)
Dan pretty much either won or DNF'd all weekend, a result of his pristine setups and hammer-down trigger finger. Most of the boats he runs are capable of record breaking speeds and he was on track in a couple of other classes when traffic or rough water got in his way.
In addition, Dan is an absolute gentleman, a great sportsman and a pleasure to be around. Always willing to share his expertise and a true gift to the hobby.
The only one who came close was Mark Anderson, Dan's running mate from MN. Charlie Toms and Larry Caputo also racked up quite a few points.
As organizers, one of our primary objectives was to create a venue where records could be broken. Thank you Dan and Charlie for helping us achieve that goal. Your performances were the ultimate payoff for all of our efforts.
