I need to put a full new tube in this boat. Tube broke inside the ski,.. Anyone ever been able to change out the whole tube without removing the ski?

I purchased the Walker Pre Built 45 hull. The ski was already attached. I was surprised that I was able to fish the S bend thru the ski without any troubles during assembly. I think you should be OK.

You probably already know this trick, but just in case, heat the old tube with a soldering iron or small torch to weaken the epoxy so that you can pull the old tube out.

The other trick is to take a car battery and attach cables then clamp one end with the red and the other with black cable. It will smoke and pop and in a few seconds it can be pulled right out.

Just did mine last week, jae gasser, twist out with strut

I redid with 5/16 outersleeve as it didnt have one

I literally just did this yesterday evening. I used a dremel to cut away some epoxy and fiberglass from where the tube exits through the bottom of the hull and used an exacto knife to cut away some expoy from where the tube runs through the bulkhead. The stuffing tube had been annealed, so it was easy to slightly bend where needed and pull the tube completely from the boat. Installing a new tube was a breeze as I used the bends from the old tube as a template. It was much easier than I thought it was going to be.

You can use a good sharp utility razor knife and make cuts all along the joint of the ski bottom to the sides. Work the blade slowly and deep enough to make a thin cut and you can remove the ski intact. Clean up the glue residue, fix the tube, and reglue the ski bottom and you are done. No sawing or removing of any material is needed. Patience is the key. Took me 5 minutes to do it at a race when one failed on me with too much of an S bend.
