This topic has come up before.
In general terms the alloy bushed rods are lighter and cheaper to make. The problem is a lean run can result in the bush being spun in the rod, which blocks the oil holes and generally is shortly followed by the rod breaking!
The needle roller rods will stand a lean run or two. And lean runs can be caused by factors beyond merely setting the needle wrong. Pressure line springs a leak, tank cracks, backplate seal goes etc.
Probably the lighter allo rods would be better for ultimate performance, but for better durability many manufacturers have gone to the needle roller rods.
