Hi Folks,
I have 5 sets of a brass insert tool that I came up with. I wanted something to aid the install process making sure they were being installed straight and perpendicular.
The process I have used is; lock nut gets installed upside down, thread on the brass insert, then ”jam” the lock nut so the metallic side is up against the brass insert. You need to make sure these are secured very well otherwise the fastener will spin but the insert won’t rotate. I have also used an additional jam nut to back the lock nut to aid in locking the stack together. Then it’s as easy as align, clamp, and drive the insert in.
sets will include: 4-40, 6-32, 8-32, and a brass insert of each size as shown in the picture. Cost is $45 shipped via USPS Priority small flat rate box.
I only have enough parts for 5 sets. If the response is positive, I can order more parts and print more bases.
