You will get a varitey of answers to this question, many of them diametrically opposed to each other. Here is what I do:
* Wire the motor to a 6-cell pack
* Submberge the endbell half of the running motor into a glass of clean water for one to two minutes
* Remove from water and blow out excess water
* Dry motor out with hair dryer, etc., run it on 6 cells to help spin out remaining water
* Oil bushing and bearing
This procedure will break in the brushes faster - it takes many packs to do it on the water. Make sure you do not get the bearing wet! Do not over-oil the motor, don't get it too hot, and clean it out occasionally with motor spray. Good to go....others are free to post their own methods. :unsure:
