When changing engines types and you need to add length to the Stuffing tube without replaceing it? You can always add length by instaling the next size bigger tube onto the outside of the existing tube. sand the tube extension & red Loctite will hold them together. if you have a 5/16 stuffing tube coming to the engine flywheel a New short added piece of 11/32 can provide length and it lets the engine flexshaft a little wiggle room. This is very helpful when changing engines and the length of the shaft needs to change and you dont want to rip it out of the boat and start over. jw

this can also help to stiffen the tube at the motor end ( double wall thickness )
