Question, you asked for the number on the case, why? In the 7.5 motor was there more than one diameter of sleeve over the years? I know for sure the timing changed on the sleeve and piston on both the 3.5  and 7.5. I also remember they changed the diameter in the sleeve in the 3.5 at one point.

Yes stock, PS and SS had different sleeves along with head design

Also they had different cases through the years later models had thick flanges so that made them stronger
