Hey Guys!

Trying to track down some bearings for a Nelson .45 outboard, though not sure of the numbers and Google isn’t helping much with measurements.

From a set of digital calipers, the big bearing is reading:
OD: 30mm

ID: 19mm

Depth: 6.3
And the small:
OD: 22mm

ID: 9.5

Depth: 5.5.

Preferably a high quality ceramic if possible, but open to a source either way! Thanks!

Hey Mike!
Unfortunately I think those might be for either the short stroke Nelson or the long stroke, small crank. I’m assuming these calipers may be off a tick since the sizes aren’t ringing up exactly standard.

Frank,
Tried using the boca bearing search but hasn’t been completely helpful. Will probably need to try and give them a ring instead

I will shoot Alan a message Brad, don’t know why I didn’t think of that 🤦🏻‍♂️🤦🏻‍♂️

Thanks for Jon’s email! Didn’t have it, I will shoot him a message as well.

Brandon,
Those odd ball sizes for bearings would lead me to believe that you are looking for something sized in inches.

Check and see if they size out at 1.1875x.750x.250 and .875x.375x.218.

So yes! Figured that out with the Large Bottom bearing, I will have to double check the top bearing because I couldn’t get the numbers to work out properly, unless the calipers came in that far off.

Are those sizes you’re able to get Mike?

Thanks Fred! I’ll give them a ring

Sorry Brandon, I don't have those bearings. Your best bet is to look them up on Boca bearing site.

Thanks Mike B.!
Double checked the sizing, pretty surprised to see Imperial measurements used inside of an engine!

Bearings tracked down 👍🏻

Interestingly, the PTO still uses the 698 bearings

If the small bearing is the .875x.375x.218 size, that is a version of an R6 bearing. I looked in some stuff the other night and I have a couple of them. You can have them if they fit. I have no use for them.

Yes those will fit, just let me know what I owe you!
Much appreciated!

looking at the 698 on Bocas Website there are so many different kinds. What would be the best one for PTO? I’m looking for the 698 as well.
