Turn Key Backlash - really nice looking boat
For sale is a very nice backlash. This boat comes turn key with a 30 cc RCMK rear exhaust full race mod by Gizmo. I put a 1/8 scale cowl and finished her up like the smoking joe.

When I bought her she had some aluminum
support rods in the right sponson. I never had any issue with it. Boat runs like you would expect from a Backlash.

Engine was $700 with pipe and mods, boat has some minor cosmetic blemishes but nothing big. It’s a great boat for sport class that requires the pipe be cowled over. It what she was built for. I really do not want to ship it as the cost will be $350 plus. I travel the I-75 corridor and will make arrangement to meet.

$800

that's the reason the gen 3 has the ply brace across the front bulkhead...to tie the two sponsons and the center section
Used carbon on underside of hull and Expoxied back together,if you look very close you can see the pieces glued back together, I race hard and very fast!

Heres my brace on Gen 3,still blew it apart!

Next one im going to run threw a band saw and make a rigger out of it,use carbon and Blocks and foam, make it solid!

did you reinforce the corners on the inside during the build?...im amazed you broke all of them...the gen1& 2 i know about but the 3 too...man oh man i hope mine last a bit. i built a gen 2 5 yrs ago and put two carbon rods in it and its still going....

That's what I did too after seeing how Bob Tuttle did his.

If you run rods across and core sponsons and add doubters at frame points boat will stay together I race in lame 1 and push boat to the extreme, have broken everyone except barron sheeting repair,my next one will at least have solid rods pinning sponson on turn fin side to tub,may also run braket to turn fin to the tub,the boat is very fast, its stable but being on.on #4 im just a little discouraged,I have other Gas Sprt hydros,I solid cored a ML Biatworks and can beat it to death never a failure, you can flex boat and you can stand on sonsons and tub, very fast, next on will be the new ML or Dan Ellison hydro,or Synergy from insane,I had a G4 it had to get 7times before it was not viable to repair anymore,my best heat racer for sure

I've got a Gen3 Backlash that I've stuffed, cartwheeled, and flipped many times. Only thing that's broken was the thin ply at the nose that the cowl tab goes under. Pink foam fitted in everywhere before the skins went on. Not much weight added, but it's solid and doesn't open seams or cave in when bumped in a race.

Same here. Buoy hits, blowovers, a turtle or two, heck I even had it blow off and it flew toward the drivers stand and hit the shore sponson tip first, bounced off and back out about 15 feet in the lake upside down. I knew I had done it that time…at least I thought I had. That ply cowl lip piece broke and it scratched/chipped the paint on the tips of the sponsons. Worked a some epoxy in the chipped areas to seal them up and to prevent any further paint chipping or water intrusion. And I replaced the cowl retainer piece with spare carbon fiber plate material thst was used on the radio and bait box lids. Other than that, good to go. I run a modded 26cc zen and depending on the prop the boat shows gps readings anywhere from 69-77 mph. And now that it is set up right ( no more sponson stuffing in turns, etc…) it practically drives itself and corners like on rails. I did nothing special other than build it like the instructions said although I did add filets to the frame joints.
